Carbon Reduction Plan
Carbon Footprint Results for June 2022 – June 2023
Our baseline year is from 1st June 2022 to 3rd June 2023. Our measurement was 18.2 tonnes (giving an intensity factor of 2.02 tonnes per employee).
Total emissions for this period: 18.2 tonnes CO₂e
Scope 1 – Direct emissions: 0%
Scope 2 – Indirect emissions: 11%
Scope 3 – Supply chain emissions: 89%
Most of our carbon footprint is a result of Scope 3 emissions:
- Business travel (41%)
- Commuting/working from home (23%)
- Purchased services across our supply chain (25%)
Our target:
As a growing team, we are targeting a 20% reduction from our baseline. We’re aiming to achieve a carbon intensity factor of 1.6 tonnes per employee by 2030. We are currently working to develop a full implementation plan which will allow us to achieve our targets.
Current Environmental Management Measures
- Appointed a Head of Environmental Sustainability to lead this activity
- Launched an Environmental Policy outlining our commitment to minimising the negative environmental impact of our activities
- Launched a hybrid approach to working for all colleagues, which supports homeworking and brings a reduction in the amount of carbon generated through employee commuting
- Facilitated the recycling and re-use of 15 items of network hardware
- Support our colleagues with our Cycle to Work Scheme
- Reduce usage of single-use plastic usage in the office environment
- Where appropriate recommending third-party production suppliers that hold ISO1400 accreditation
Planned Environmental Management Measures Through the next year, we plan to improve our existing knowledge and carbon reduction plan by:
- Developing a detailed road map for achieving net zero by 2050
- Setting business-wide carbon emissions reduction targets
- Providing continued training and information for colleagues
- Defining carbon offsetting initiatives
